I prefer to call my wheel thrown closed forms ‘bottles’ rather than ‘vases’.
Each of these is thrown on the wheel from a porcelain body, allowed to dry a little and then put back on the wheel and turned to achieve the final form.
I have refined this form over the years and I continue to be amazed at how a subtle change can make the difference between a form that works well aesthetically and one that does not.
