Description
Copper red with iron aventurine. This unique piece is the first result of my experiments formulating a copper red glaze that works in my crystalline firing cycle. Copper reds are among the most difficult and temperamental glazes to work with. The colour is fugitive, often fading to white. On this example a particularly rich deep red is formed with small patches of white. The interaction with the iron aventurine glaze has produced an amber transition zone speckled with golden crystals.
