Description
Iron khaki and iron gold crystalline glaze. A sunny morning in November gave bright conditions that show off my iron gold crystalline glaze at its best. Sunlight brings out the rich gold and holographic charecter of the primary crystals. The ground of this piece is especially complex. Opaque cream on the shoulder becoming increasingly transparent and moving towards red/amber at the foot. The secondary crystal add to the overall complexity and balance of the piece.

Macro Images of D4K
These macro images of D4K show the complexity of the secondary crystals. I took these using the Laowa 25mm F2.8 2.5-5x ultra macro lens. The depth of sharp focus is very small at these high magnifcations, each of the images is a composite of between 20 and 40 frames. Shot with flash at f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/200s.
3x magnification, approximately 7.6mm x 7.6mm. This is the shoulder region with a semi-opaque ground.
2.5x magnification, approximately 8.6mm x 8.6mm. Mid height where the ground is becoming increasingly transparent.
5x magnification, approximately 4.3mm x 4.3mm.
