Description
A style I no longer use rather than a second. This fine example of my blue and purple crystalline glaze sits on a body made from Audry Blackman porcelain. I was probably testing the capabilities of the porcelain to be pulled into a long neck.

Description
A style I no longer use rather than a second. This pieces comes from my early period. Both the glaze and porcelain body were suggested to me by Derek Clarkson, one of the pioneers of modern crystalline glazing and my inspiration for starting out with the process. In my numbering of glazes, this one is #5. My latest glaze, tested in March 2025 is #10433.

Description
CDT has been through the glaze firing cycle twice, each time with a different glaze. The result is different to either glaze: vivid primary crystals with growth rings set on an opaque ground with many secondary crystals. This is a second, putting the piece through two glaze firings was too much for the porcelain and a pinhole has formed just below the mid height. It can be sen in the second picture.

Description
This small piece shows the powerful effect that the porcelain body has on the crystal growth. Over Royale porcelain, this glaze produces a much warmer darker background with many complex secondaries. With Glacier porcelain, the background is opaque and without secondaries. I damaged this piece as I was cleaning the foot after removing the catcher causing a scratch in the glaze near the bottom.

Description
Made from one of my custom porcelain bodies, CJM features exceptional secondary development. The ground is complex, semi-transparent near the top with pink blushes caused by tiny seconday development. Below the mid plane, an extraordinary development of secondaries has occured. This was before I had learned how to make my custom porcelains defect free. There is a bleb/pinhole on the shoulder.

Description
Also made from one of my early custom porcelain bodies, this piece also has a powerful secondary development together with vivid primary crystals. I hadn’t fully perfected my porcelain at this time and the piece has a number blebs that are just below the glaze surface, each creating a small pale coloured patch.
